Wallpaper Panels became a popular workshop that I developed and shared for a number of years. The gallery to the right is from art retreats and amazing particpants! The first time I saw a room full of finished wallpaper panels, I just teared up. To see thirty, 4-6 foot panels of artwork lining an entire room is a powerful thing. Everyone is capable of more than they know and it only takes one day to find that out. I am extremely proud of this workshop and the methods I use to teach it. It is very close to my heart. Thank you to all the amazing artists who shared these retreats with me! (Note: I am not currently offering this workshop. But I will update this website when I begin offering workshops again.)
Wallpaper Panels are mixed media pieces that range between 4.5 to 6 foot in height and built on textured wallpapers. I started creating these long narrow panels as a way to push my impulses farther. Each panel was made in a one-day exercise. My goal was to create a finished piece in a single day through various mediums and instinctive practices. I wanted to apply the same techniques I was familiar with in my art journals but on a much larger scale. I found that going from impulse-to-impulse and changing mediums allows the mind to stay out of the process and for the artwork to flow at a much faster rate. Also, that working large can be just as fast and more satisfying than working small.
